Why Isn't My Stripe Connect Working?

If you're having trouble accepting credit card payments, check the common issues below.

Check your Stripe Connect status

Go to Account → Payment tab and look at the status badge next to "Online Payments (via Stripe)":

What to do

Not Set Up

You haven't started the Stripe setup. Tap Set Up Stripe to begin.

Setup Incomplete

You started but didn't finish. Tap Refresh Status, then complete the remaining steps in the embedded form. Stripe may need your bank details or identity verification.

Action Required

Stripe needs additional information. Open the setup form and follow the prompts. This can happen if your bank details need updating or if Stripe requires additional identity documents.

Active

Your Stripe account is working. If students still can't pay, check the other issues below.


Common issues

Stripe setup won't complete

This usually means Stripe is waiting for more information from you. Common reasons:

  • Incorrect details — Double-check that your business info, bank account details, and personal information are entered correctly.

  • Identity verification pending — Stripe may need time to verify your identity. This can take a few minutes or up to a couple of days depending on your region.

  • Missing documents — Stripe may require additional identity documents. Check the setup form for any prompts.

Tap Refresh Status to check if Stripe has finished processing.

Students don't see the credit card option

Make sure online payments are toggled on in your Account → Payment tab.

Also confirm that your Stripe Connect status is Active — students won't see the credit card option until your account is fully set up.

Your previous Stripe account was not found

If you see this message, your Stripe account may have been disconnected or removed. Tap Set Up Stripe to start fresh with a new account.

Payment failed for a student

This is usually a card issue on the student's end (declined card, insufficient funds, or failed 3D Secure verification). Ask the student to try a different card or contact their bank.


Good to know

  • You can tap Refresh Status at any time to sync your status with Stripe.

  • Stripe Connect is only required for online credit card payments. Offline payments and package credits work without it.
