The Students tab in your SwingMatch instructor account is a centralized hub for managing all your golfers, whether they use the SwingMatch platform or not. Here’s a detailed breakdown of how student lists work, including features for both offline students and online students. You can think of student lists as a contact list specific to your instruction business.
Offline Students
Offline students are golfers who do not have a SwingMatch account. Instructors can easily add and manage these students directly in the platform.
Adding Offline Students
To add an offline student:
Navigate to the Students tab.
Click on "+" then "Offline Student".
Fill in the following fields (as much or as little as you want):
Name (required)
Email (optional)
Phone Number (optional)
Notes (optional) — Keep track of special preferences, performance notes, or any relevant details.
Features for Offline Students
Lesson Scheduling: Book offline students into lessons using a preset schedule or a custom one.
Lesson Updates: If you include contact details (email or phone), offline students will be notified about lesson updates automatically.
Payment Management:
Record offline payments.
Track lesson packages purchased.
Send payment reminders via email or SMS.
Lesson History: Access a detailed record of all lessons taken by the student, making it easy to track their progress.
Control and Flexibility
As the instructor, you have complete control over offline student details and interactions. This flexibility ensures you can manage ALL of your clients effectively, even if they aren’t SwingMatch users.
Online Students
Online students are those who have registered for a SwingMatch account. These users bring added functionality to the platform, enhancing both instructor and student experiences.
Features for Online Students
Online students share all the features of offline students, with additional benefits:
Student Account Actions:
Confirm lesson invites or changes directly within their SwingMatch account.
Acknowledge lesson updates for seamless communication.
Chat Functionality:
Use SwingMatch’s built-in messaging system to chat with your students.
Share quick updates, answer questions, or discuss lesson details.
Self-Service Tools: Students can view their lesson history, making it easier to track their own progress and save themselves the hassle of sending an email to book or coordinate a time.
Streamlined Interaction
With an online account, students are more engaged, helping instructors spend less time coordinating and more time teaching.

Best Practices for Managing Your Student List
Keep Contact Details Up-to-Date: Ensure email and phone numbers are accurate for smooth communication if they wish to be notified.
Subscribe to your Lesson Calendar: This will ensure your instruction schedule has a source of truth (your SwingMatch Account!). Plus, you don't need to send out a calendar invite to your student or create one for yourself, it'll be done automatically. It's much easier to make a few clicks in SwingMatch and have a lesson pop up in your preferred calendar opposed to manually creating an appointment in your calendar.
Encourage Online Accounts: For a more interactive experience, encourage offline students to create a SwingMatch account.
SwingMatch empowers you to seamlessly manage both offline and online students, giving you the tools to grow your golf instruction business while staying organized and efficient.
