Creating a Package for a Student (Instructors)

This article explains how instructors can assign a lesson package to a student through the SwingMatch dashboard.

How to create a package

  1. Go to My Students and open the specific student's profile.

  2. Tap Add Package.

  3. Choose the Schedule & Package: Tap the selection card to see all available offerings and package options, then select the one you wish to assign.

  4. Adjust Details (Optional): You can optionally modify the price or the lesson count for this specific package.

  5. Choose a Payment Method:

    • Credit Card: The student receives a notification to pay via Stripe. Credits remain unavailable until payment is completed.

    • Offline: Use this if you collect payment directly (e.g., cash or e-transfer). Check "Already paid offline" to activate the package immediately, or leave it unchecked if payment is still pending.

  6. Tap Add Package. The student will then be notified.

What the student sees

  • Credit Card Payment: The student receives a notification to pay; credits are locked until the transaction is finished.

  • Offline (Marked as Paid): The package is active immediately, and the student can begin using credits.

  • Offline (Not yet marked as Paid): The package appears on the student's account, but credits are unusable until you manually mark it as paid.

Managing a package after creation

From the package detail page, you can:

  • Edit the package details using the edit button on the hero card.

  • Mark as Paid or Mark as Unpaid for offline transactions.

  • Send a payment reminder if the student has a pending balance.

  • View all lessons that have been booked using that specific package.

Good to know

  • Templates vs. Assignment: Package templates are created on the offering's edit page (under "Custom Packages" or individual pricing options). This process is for assigning those templates to a specific student.

  • Custom Pricing: You have the flexibility to adjust the price per student during the creation process.

  • Account Requirement: For credit card payments to work, the student must have an online profile.
