Confirming or Declining a Booking Request

When a student books a lesson with you, the booking starts as Pending Confirmation. You need to confirm or decline it.

Updated today

Where to find pending bookings

  • My Lessons — Pending bookings appear in the "Booked & pending confirmation" section.

  • My Students — Students with pending lessons appear in the "Needs Action" section.

  • Notifications — You'll receive an email and in-app notification when a new booking comes in.

How to confirm

  1. Open the lesson from My Lessons or tap the notification.

  2. Review the lesson details — student name, date, time, offering, and payment method.

  3. Tap Confirm Lesson.

The lesson moves to Confirmed status. The student is notified. If they paid by credit card, the payment is charged at this point.

How to decline

  1. Open the lesson.

  2. Tap Decline.

  3. Optionally enter a reason (e.g., "I'm unavailable that day — can we try Thursday instead?").

  4. Confirm the decline.

The lesson moves to Declined status and the student is notified. If they paid by credit card, the authorization hold is released and they are not charged.

Good to know

  • You can also reschedule instead of declining — tap Reschedule to suggest a different date and time. The student will be asked to approve the new time. See How to reschedule a lesson.

  • If you don't respond to a booking, it stays in Pending Confirmation. There's no automatic timeout — the student can cancel their request if they don't want to wait. Payment authorizations are cancelled after 7 days per Stripe's pre-authorization policy.

  • For bookings you create yourself on behalf of a student, the status may differ based on your choices. See Booking a lesson on behalf of a student.
