How to Reschedule a Lesson

This article explains how to propose a new date or time for a lesson.

Updated today

How to request a reschedule

  1. Open the lesson from My Lessons.

  2. Tap Reschedule.

  3. Select a new date and time:

    • Students: Choose from the instructor's available time slots. If no slots are available, you'll see a message suggesting you contact the instructor via chat.

    • Instructors: Choose from your available slots, or toggle Use Custom Time to pick any date and time.

  4. Optionally add a reason (e.g., "Something came up — can we move to Thursday?").

  5. Tap Send Request.

The other person will be notified and can approve, decline, or suggest a different time.

What the other person sees

A Reschedule Request card appears on the lesson detail page showing:

  • The proposed new time

  • Who requested the change

  • The reason (if provided)

They have three options:

  • Approve — Accepts the new time. The lesson updates to the new date.

  • Decline — Keeps the original time.

  • Reschedule — Proposes a different time instead (sends a new request back to you).

Where to find reschedule requests

Lessons with pending reschedule requests appear in the Pending tab on My Lessons, under the "Reschedule Requests" section.

Good to know

  • Group lessons cannot be rescheduled. If you need to change the time for a group lesson, cancel the booking and rebook a different session.

  • Past lessons (more than a day after the lesson ended) cannot be rescheduled.

  • Only lessons in Pending or Confirmed status can be rescheduled.

  • A reschedule request does not cancel the original lesson — it stays as-is until the other person responds.

  • If a credit card was used, the authorization remains valid for the new time (subject to Stripe's 7-day policy).
