How to Book a Lesson

When you book a lesson on SwingMatch, you'll choose a pricing option, pick a date and time, and then select how you want to pay. This article focuses on the payment options you'll see at checkout.

Payment options at checkout

After selecting your lesson and time slot, you'll see one or more payment options depending on what the instructor has set up:

Package credit

If you've purchased a lesson package from this instructor, your available credits appear first with a FREE badge. Tap to use one credit β€” no payment is collected at checkout.

Each credit shows the lesson name, duration, and how many credits you have remaining.

Credit card

Your card is authorized (a temporary hold) when you book, but you're only charged after the instructor confirms the lesson. If the lesson is declined or cancelled, the hold is released and your card will not be charged.

A small booking fee may be added to the total, this is instructor dependent. See Understanding the booking fee.

Pay later / Already paid

Choose this if you're paying the instructor directly β€” cash, e-transfer, or however you've arranged it. SwingMatch doesn't process the payment but tracks it for both you and the instructor.

What happens after you book

  • Your booking request is sent to the instructor. The lesson starts in a Pending Confirmation state.

  • The instructor will confirm, decline, or suggest a different time.

  • If you paid by credit card, the charge is only captured after the instructor confirms.

  • For group lessons, bookings are confirmed automatically.

Good to know

  • You don't need an account to browse instructor profiles and availability. You only need to sign in at checkout via a one-time-passcode sent to your phone number.

  • If you're booking a group lesson, you can also add additional participants. See Booking a group lesson.

  • Not all instructors accept all payment methods. The options you see depend on what the instructor has enabled.
